Watercolor Sketches

Live Guest Portraits offer hand-painted watercolor and pen-and-ink renditions of your wedding attendees! Executed in my distinctive impressionistic style during the cocktail hour and/or reception, each portrait is swiftly completed (averaging 5-10 minutes per individual, 10-15 minutes per couple), providing guests with a delightful memento to cherish. The original, signed artwork becomes a cherished keepsake for guests to take home.

Live Painting

The live painting will be curated starting with the set and colors chosen for your event. The live painting will last two hours, and you can choose between acrylic on canvas or watercolor on paper. The watercolor on paper will be delivered after two hours, while the canvas painting will be brought to the studio for detailing and varnishing and shipped directly to your home in approximately two months.

Live Painting Cake

A fun yet elegant service to entertain your guests, the painters will independently set up an elegant table and decorative objects to match the event. Everything will be personalized and coordinated with the couple. The watercolor cards are A5 sized with a personalized envelope featuring the couple’s names and the date. The painters (wearing outfits that match the entire event) will take a posed photo of the guests. They are then free to enjoy the aperitif and can collect their portrait at the end of the dinner, where it will be displayed on a table as a gift for the guests. In the center, you will find the portrait dedicated to the couple in a gift frame.

My name is Monja, and I live in the heart of the Tuscan countryside with my family. Ever since I was a child, painting has been my greatest passion. I pursued artistic studies and graduated in Florence in the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, specializing in painting and wooden artworks.

Throughout my training, I had the privilege of studying alongside renowned Florentine masters, where I deepened traditional techniques and refined my personal style.

As someone who is sentimental I knew (if the budget allowed) I wanted to have a live painter so we could have some art for years to come from the best day. I had my planner reach out to Monja directly and luckily she was available. Monja did such a great job. She came prior to the ceremony to start painting and then left after cocktail hour. She then brings the painting back to her studio to finish it up. She finished and shipped our painting to NY within 6 weeks of our wedding!  Faster than I expected! It truly is so beautiful!! The guest paintings were the perfect keepsake for our guests to remember our wedding day. We absolutely adore our painting of us at our ceremony as a married couple moments after we said "I do". Aside from the raw talent that Monja has as a spectacular artist, she is also a genuinely kind person. She went above and beyond for us and was incredibly accommodating - all characteristics that a Bride NEEDS in her vendors! Her energy on our wedding day was warm, inviting, and kind. I had only just met her, but it felt like I had known her forever and she was a guest at our wedding. Monja has the positive energy you need on your wedding day!

Initially, I thought having Monja would be a "luxury" item on our wedding list but after seeing her in action at our wedding, I can't imagine our day without her. We hired Monja to paint our guests at our daughter's wedding in Siena, Italy  and I am soooo happy we did! The guests RAVED about how beautiful the paintings were and that they were so grateful to have such a unique memento from the wedding. Monja set up a lovely, chic area at the entrance to the cocktail hour where guests stopped to have their picture taken. She then painted their pictures and had them displayed on a table for pick up. She even included an illustration of the wedding villa at the bottom of the painting and made custom envelopes to put the paintings in. The canvas is small enough to fit in a checked bag for anyone traveling in from overseas and the watercolor guest portraits were a huge hit with our guests (we used these as our wedding favors).
